Sophia Harris is a licensed equine massage therapist in 2 levels through the Rocky Mountain School of Animal Acupressure and Massage:
Equine Therapeutic Massage Therapy
Equine Sports Massage Therapy
She believes that bodywork is a vital component of working with horses, especially in the performance world. Horses work hard to do what we ask, and a lot of behavioral and training issues can be traced back to physical discomfort.
Sophia uses a combination of therapies in her bodywork sessions: massage, taping, craniosacral, Masterson Method, and MagnaWave PEMF to support horses in their jobs.
Always interested in other modalities, Sophia is currently working on her Small Animal and Equine Acupressure certification through the same school. As soon as case studies are completed, Acupressure will be added to the menu. Stay tuned!

In 2022, Sophia became a certified MagnaWave PEMF practitioner. It has been a blessing to the horses, dogs, and people!
"MagnaWave is a pulsed electro-magnetic frequency delivered through a coil placed on the body that helps “recharge” unhealthy cells with improved oxygenation and circulation, returning them to normal function. MagnaWave is said to improve cellular absorption of oxygen and nutrients, while eliminating toxins, resulting in inflammation reduction, improved recovery times, and performance in a drug-free way."
For Sophia's clients, MagnaWave has:
Helped with pain, stiffness, and swelling
Increased range of motion
Reduced healing time
One comment she frequently hears, from both her 4- and 2-legged clients, is:
"I feel so much better after my sessions!"
Read more about MagnaWave:
Kinesiology Tape is an elastic tape that sticks to the hair of the horse (directly to the skin in people). It is stretched when applied and, because of it's elasticity, it contracts to it's original shape, lifting the skin in the process. This sends immediate and constant blood flow directly to the area. This blood flow:
Increases Lymph Flushing
Brings more oxygen/nutrients to the area
Taping also stimulates nerve endings which offer pain reduction, can be used for muscle/joint support, and increases proprioception.
Bodywork sessions without PEMF are: $100/session ($275 for 3)
Bodywork sessions with PEMF are: $150/session ($400 for 3)
Stand alone PEMF sessions are: $75/session ($300 for 5)
We offer an add-on bodywork package for all our horses in training. Sophia will do 2 bodywork sessions (with PEMF) per month to help the horse with the physical demands of training. This package is $250/month.
